남산 N타워 3D 프로젝션 매핑 콘텐츠 개발

Abstract

근래 도구 없는 증강현실 체험의 하나인 3D 프로젝션 매핑의 활용이 증가되는 추세이다. 그러나 하드웨어 장비의 특성상 상업적인 목적으로 제작된 사례가 많았고, 콘텐츠의 다양한 개발 역시 아직 부족한 실정이다. 본 논문은 한국의 대표적 관광 명소이며 서울의 상징인 N타워 기둥부의 형태적, 물리적 특징을 이용하여 미디어아트의 요소와 웃음을 자아내게 할 흥미(fun) 요소를 담은 프로젝션 매핑용 콘텐츠 개발에 중점을 두었다. 외국인 관광객과 국내 관광객의 연령별 콘텐츠 선호도 인자를 하나로 아우르기 위하여 전통과 현대적 문화의 융합에 초점을 두었으며, 새로운 3D 매핑의 착시현상이 주는 시각적 즐거움에도 충실하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 약 5분 분량의 콘텐츠를 계획하고, 이를 기승전결로 나누어 각각의 장마다 하나의 주제를 갖는 이야기가 전개되도록 하였으며, 각각의 장은 다시 여러 에피소드로 나누어 콘텐츠의 진행이 속도감 있도록 구성하였다.

The purpose of this design is to make suitable 3D projection mapping contents of N tower. Physically, N tower has an exceedingly tall and thin column, and an antenna transmitter in the middle of body. It placed in the center of Seoul and is the symbol of the city. The contents would be viewed by all age groups and tourists from domestic and foreign countries, therefore this project has three aims. The first aim is to introduce media-art to older generations in a waty that is easily accessible to them. The second aim is to create an interesting convergence of traditional and modern contents. The last aim is to provide attractions to foreign visitors. To meet this purpose, the contents, which is divided into 16 episodes, consist of introduction, development, turn, and conclusion. The length of the film is approximately 5 minutes.
