부모의 양육스트레스와 교사효능감이 초등학교 1학년 아동의 학교적응에 미치는 영향: 아동의 자아존중감의 매개효과

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 부모의 양육스트레스, 교사효능감, 초등학교 1학년 아동의 학교적응 및 자아존중감 간의 관계를 살펴보고, 부모의 양육스트레스와 교사효능감이 학교적응에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 아동의 자아존중감이 매개역할을 하는지 확인하는데 있다. 연구 자료로 ‘한국아동패널’ 8차년도 데이터를 활용하였고, 자료 분석은 SPSS 20.0과 AMOS 22.0 프로그램을 활용해 변인 간 상관분석과 경로분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 살펴보면, 첫째, 초등학교 1학년 아동의 학교적응은 아동의 자아존중감 및 교사효능감과 정적 상관관계를 보였고, 부모의 양육스트레스와는 부적 상관관계를 보였다. 둘째, 교사효능감과 부모의 양육스트레스가 학교적응에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 아동의 자아존중감이 매개역할을 수행하였다. 이는 초등학교 1학년 아동의 학교적응을 돕기 위해서는 교사효능감과 아동의 자아존중감을 신장시키고, 부모의 양육스트레스를 줄이는 대책이 필요함을 시사한다. 따라서 본 연구는 각 기관에서 활용할 수 있는 체험용 자아존중감 신장 프로그램 개발, 교사효능감 증진을 위한 교사 연수, 양육에 대한 인식 제고 및 행복한 가정문화를 위한 부모 교육을 제안한다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between parents’ parenting stress, teacher efficacy, children’s self-esteem, and elementary school adjustment. Additionally, this study explored the mediating effect of children’s self-esteem in the relationship of parents’ parenting stress, teacher efficacy, and children’s elementary school adjustment. The 8th year data from ‘Panel Study of Korean Children(PSKC)’ was utilized and it was analyzed using correlation analysis and path analysis with SPSS 20.0 program and AMOS 22.0 program. The results were as follows: First, children's elementary school adjustment was positively associated with children's self-esteem and teacher efficacy, but negatively associated with parents’ parenting stress. Second, children's self-esteem mediated the effect of parents’ parenting stress and teacher efficacy on children's elementary school adjustment. The finding of this study indicates that it is essential to come up with practical measure which improve teacher efficacy and children's self-esteem, and lessen parents’ parenting stress in order to help children be adapted in elementary school. Thus, this study suggests experiential self-esteem improvement program for kindergarten and elementary school; teacher training program for improving teacher efficacy; parent education for raising awareness of parenting and making happy domestic culture.
