지역커뮤니티를 위한 참여형 디자인 프로세스의 평가에 관한 연구

Abstract

최근 우리사회에서는 공공공간 및 공공디자인에 대한 사회적 관심, 공공성에 대한 질문, 커뮤니티가 주체가 되는 커뮤니티 디자인의 대두라는 일련의 사회적 움직임이 활발해지고 있다. 이러한 시점에서 커뮤니티가 주체가 되어 진행된 공공디자인과 커뮤니티 디자인에 대한 평가와 반성은 향후 수준 높은 공공공간의 실현을 위해 매우 중요한 과제이다. 이에 본 연구는 지역 커뮤니티를 위한 참여형 디자인의 평가방법을 구축하는 것에 목적을 두고 있다. 특히 본 연구에서는 커뮤니티의 구성요소, 즉, 「지역」「공동의 유대」「사회적 상호작용」이라는 세 가지 구성요소가 갖는 의미를 디자인방법론과 관계시켜 고찰하고 평가규범을 도출한다. 이렇게 도출된 평가규범을 참여형 디자인이 행해진 실제의 지역 커뮤니티에 적용하는 사례연구를 진행한다. 평가의 결과는 평가규범의 세 가지 축의 관계구조로서 정리되며, 이를 통해 디자인과 디자인 방법에 영향을 주는 요인들이 파악되고 참여형 디자인의 개선 방향이 제안된다. 본 연구는 성과를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 즉, ①커뮤니티에 있어서 참여형 디자인의 타당함을 명확히 한 것, ②지역 커뮤니티를 위한 참여형 디자인의 평가방법을 체계적으로 구축한 것, ③커뮤니티의 증진을 위한 참여디자인의 개선안을 체계적으로 제안할 수 있는 것 등이다. 본 연구에서 명확히 한 커뮤니티의 개념과 참여 디자인의 관계적 디자인 방법은, 최근 사회적으로 주목받고 있는 공공디자인의 공공성 증진을 위한 방향을 제시할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Recently, social movements are arising out social concern for public design, social inquiry is increasing for publicity, and the prevalence of community participation design is increasing. In this situation, evaluation and reflection are needed for the development of public designs and community designs. Regarding social situations, this study intends to create an evaluation method for participation design that can be used in regional communities. We conducted an examination that makes the three elements for community organization, i.e., region, social interaction, and common tie related to design methods. The evaluation norms were derived through the examination, and a case study to apply the evaluation norms to a community was conducted. The results of the evaluation are summarized in terms of the relational structure. Through an analysis of the relational structure and evaluation contents, the factors that influence participation design are grasped and direction for the improvement of participation design are proposed. The fruits of this study can be summarized as the follows; It makes the suitability of participation design for a community clear, it create a systematic evaluation method for participation design, and it proposes an improvement method for participation design for communities. We expect that directions for the improvement of publicity can be presented through the proposed participation design method, including a relational design method to create a community concept related participation design.
