This study aims to analyze spatial distribution patterns of foreign residents in the Seoul Metropolitan Area and to find determinants of their residential location choice. To do so, this study measures standard deviation distances and conducts multiple regression models. The major findings from the analysis are as follows: First, foreigners from South-East Asia have the longest standard deviation distance, while those from EU and USA have the shortest standard deviation distances, indicating foreigners from EU and USA have a higher tendency to live together around downtown of Seoul. Second, the regression analysis results show variations in residential location choices by nationality. Foreigners from South-East Asia, India, and Pakistan are highly likely to reside around zones with high concentration of manufacturing industries. These foreigners have a higher tendency to rent multi-family housings with monthly payment. Lastly, proximity to foreign school is an important factor in determining the residential location choices for the foreigners from EU and USA, implying that high-skilled foreigners take education environment into account seriously in the choice of their residential location.-
