한국문학의 다문화담론에 대한 메타분석(meta-analysis)

Abstract

본 연구는 2002년부터 2018년 5월 말까지 국내 학술지에 게재된 한국문학 관련 논문 중, 다문화담론과 관련 있는 논문들을 대상으로 이들 논문들이 어떤 주제와 방법론을 사용하고 있는지를 통계학적을 밝히는 것이다. 이를 위해 필자는 메타분석을 실시했는데, 구체적인 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국문학 연구자들의 다문화담론과 관련한 주요 관심사는 다문화사회나 현상을 반영한 문학 작품에 대한 분석이었다. 둘째, 다문화교육에 대한 논의 또한 문학 작품 못지않게 연구자들의 관심을 끌었다. 다문화 교육은 크게 두 가지 지점으로 분화되었는데, 하나는 이해교육으로 대변되는 보편적인 다문화 교육이고, 다른 하나는 다문화인들을 대상으로 한 한국어교육 분야였다. 셋째, 한국문학 연구자들은 국내 체류 외국인들뿐만 아니라, 코리안 디아스포라를 비롯한 국내외 이주자들의 정체성의 문제 또한 중요한 연구과제로 삼고 있었다. 이상의 결과에도 불구하고 본 연구는 한국문학의 다문화담론에 대한 연구 전체를 조망하기에는 한계가 있다. 왜냐하면 연구대상을 수집하는 과정에서 중요한 의미를 지니고 있는 연구들이 제외되었기 때문이다. 필자는 주제어와 초록 등이 없는 논문과 학위 논문, 그리고 저서들을 이번 연구에서 제외하였는데, 그 결과 한국문학 분야의 다문화담론에 관한 풍부한 논의들의 상당 부분이 배제되었다.

This study aims to conclude statistically, what subject matter and methodology papers on Korean literature, published from 2002 to late May of 2018 in Korean journals, that deal with multicultural discourse, are employing. To this end, a meta-analysis was concluded, and the results are the following. Firstly, the main interest of Korean literature scholars concerning multicultural discourse, is to analyze literature that depict a multicultural society or phenomenon. Secondly, discussions concerning multicultural education also caught the attention of scholars just as much as literature. Multicultural education diverges into mainly two points: the standard multicultural education represented by education of understanding. Thirdly, Korean literature scholars consider not only the foreigners living in Korea, but also the identity of the Korean diaspora and of the migrants in and outside Korea as an important subject matter. Despite the above conclusions, the study is limited in considering all of the multicultural discourse in Korean literature. For some significant studies were excluded in the process of selecting the subjects of analysis. As papers, dissertations, and publications that did not have keywords and abstracts were excluded from this study, a great part of a flourishing multicultural discourse in Korean literature was left out.
