This study examined the changes of attitudes and perspectives in dealing with Korea-related issues in the Arab newspapers after the Iraqi War occurred in 2003. The study started from the assumption that the dispatching of around 3,000 non-combat Korean soldiers to Iraq could have potential negative or harmful effects on pre-existing views toward Korea. In addition, aforementioned detrimental effects could bring about the changes of Arab newspapers' attitudes and perspectives in reporting Korea-related issues. The study analyzed Al Ahram, Al Dustur, Al Itihad, and Al Haya new coverage that contained Korea-related issues. The unit of analysis was the news story, and the news stories to be content-analyzed were drawn by conducting a search on the four newspapers' web-sites. The time period selected was from 20 March 2003 to 30 December 2004. Results showed that, in terms of the numbers of news reports, the Arab newspapers took not much interest in Korea in spite of the extensive time period and the numbers of newspapers analyzed. The findings also indicated that the newspapers heavily focused on diplomacy and international relationship and <economy> areas. Especially, they focused intensively on six-party talks around the North Korea's nuclear issue, and diplomatic controversies between the two Korea. In addition, the newspapers gained more information from Korean official sources than non-official ones, and used more Western news agencies and press than Korean newspapers and broadcasting news. Findings are discussed in relations to news frame theory and international conflict coverage of new media.-
