체육특기자의 대학생활에 대한 또래 대학생의 인식 이해

Abstract

2017년 입학자부터 모든 체육특기자들은 각종 시합에 출전하기 위해서는 C제로 이상의 학점을 취득해야 한다. 이와 같은 대학엘리트스포츠 정책변화는 우리나라 체육특기자의 대학생활에 적지 않은 영향을 미치고 있다. 이에 본 연구의 목적은 체육특기자와 강의를 함께 수강하는 또래대학생 4명을 대상으로 체육특기자의 대학생활을 이해하는데 있다. 심층면담과 비참여관찰을 통해 자료를 수집하였으며, 수집된 자료는 Spradley(1980)의 의미론적 관계 조사에 의한 영역 분석과 분류체계 방법으로 분석되었다. 자료를 분석한 결과, 우리나라 체육특기자들은 또래대학생과 ‘보이지않는 벽’에서 생활하고 있었다. 또한 이들은 강의실에서 방황하며 학업 태도와 관계없이 호화스런 학점을 취득하고 있는것으로 나타났다. 한편, 일부 체육특기자들은 특이한 진로 변경에 대해 고민하며 자아정체성 혼란을 겪는 것으로 확인되었다. 따라서 본 글에서는 체육특기자들의 학업과 여가시간의 확보를 위해 대학관계자의 공조가 필요하며, 동시에 입학후 운동을 중단하는 체육특기자들을 대상으로 다양한 교육적 조치가 필요함을 제안하였다.

Since in 2017, all student athletes in college level who want to attend a university match shouldget above C zero credit. The changed policy in university sports has greatly impacted on the entire lives ofcollege student athletes in Korea. Thus, the purpose of this study is to understand the college life ofstudent-athletes with the eyes of 4 peer university students who have taken all courses. Using in-depthinterviews and non-participation observations, necessary data are collected. The collected data areanalyzed based on the domain analysis and classification analysis proposed by Spradley (1980). Therefore,university student-athletes have lived in invisible wall that is apart from peer students, are wandering inmany classes, and are received high credit without any efforts . Meanwhile, because the student-athletesare concerned about their future career, they have troubled about their identities. In a sense, this paper hasproposed two things such as collaborative relations among university people and various services ineducating many student-athletes who quitted the positions as athletes.
