영유아기 자녀를 둔 전업주부 어머니의 식생활 교육 경험과 요구

Abstract

영유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니들의 자녀 식생활 교육 경험과 요구에 대해 알아보고자 서울‧경기 지역에 거주하는 영아 어머니 6명과 유아 어머니 6명 총 12명을 연구 참여자로 선정하였다. 본 연구에서는 반구조화된 면담방식으로 연구 참여자별 2-3회의 심층면담을 실시하여 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 반복적 비교분석 과정을 거치며 분석 하였다. 연구결과, 어머니들의 식생활 교육의 교육 내용은 자녀 식생활을 위한 기본기술과 식습관의 형성, 기초적인 식재료에 관한 정보 전달, 바른 인식과 태도 형성을 중심으로 나타났으며 교육 방법은 식사 환경의 제공하기, 건강식 선호 습관 형성하기, 식생활 관련 도전적 행동 격려하기, 구체적으로 설명하기, 모델 보여주기, 허용 및 타협하기, 단호히 알려주기 중심으로 나타났다. 관련 정보는 지인, 인터넷 검색, 전문가 서적을 통해서 주로 수집하고 있었다. 어머니들의 식생활 교육관련 요구는 가족 및 교육기관과 일관성 있는 식생활 교육, 교육기관을 통한 자녀의 다양한 식생활 교육 경험, 식생활 관련 부모교육을 중심으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 실효성 높은 식생활 교육 프로그램 개발을 위해, 영유아기 자녀 어머니들의 식생활 교육 경험과 요구 전반에 대해 이해할 수 있는 기초자료를 제공하는 데 의의가 있다.

This qualitative study aimed to explore the dietary education experiences and needs of full-time homemaker mothers with young children. A purposefully collected sample of 12 mothers (6 mothers of infants or toddlers and 6 mothers of preschoolers) in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province participated in individual in-depth interviews. Thematic analysis of interview transcripts used a thematic framework. The experience of mothers' dietary education was examined in terms of the content, strategy, and information acquisition path of the dietary education. The education content focused on how to attain basic skills and to form the habits for their children’s eating, how to deliver basic information about ingredients, and how to correctly recognize food and to form an attitude regarding the food. Educational strategies mainly include providing a dining environment, providing an experience focused on healthy foods, encouraging eating habits, providing specific information through description, using books and online media, showing role models, meeting halfway, and scolding. Related information was primarily collected through acquaintances, Internet search, and expert books. The mothers’ demands regarding dietary education were focused on consistent dietary education with family and educational institutions, experience of dietary education for their children in educational institutions, and parent education about dietary life.
