Facing the not-rarely generated meteorological disasters in the 21st century and their growing economic losses, an initiative of public insurance program is provided as a way to prepare against the meteorological disasters. Chapter 2 shows the empirical results of IPCC and Munich Re that the climate change causes meteorological disasters and induces huge economic losses on countries and companies. In chapter 3, cases of insurance program for meteorological disasters in the U.S. and Japan are analyzed and the realities of Korea are examined to provide the policy implications. Finally, in chapter 4, based on the experiences of advanced countries, Korea initiative of public insurance program is suggested.-
