dc.description.abstractIn thispaperanewfuzzyclusteringapproachtothecolorclusteringproblemhasbeenproposed.Todealwiththe limitations ofthetraditionalFCMalgorithm,weproposeaspatialhomogeneity-basedFCMalgorithm.Moreover,the cluster validityindexisemployedtoautomaticallydeterminethenumberofclustersforagivenimage.Werefertothis method asVS-FCMalgorithm.Theeffectivenessoftheproposedmethodisdemonstratedthroughvariousclustering examples.-
