저출산에 따른 가족지원정책에 관한 연구

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out problems of current policy based on low-birthrate issue, and suggest proper family support policy in Korea through macro and micro-scopic view. We gather basic information about low-birthrate from survey, paper review, and articles. We also apply data from Korean Women`s Development Institute, Korea National Statistical Office, and survey of Ministry of Health&Welfare about present population and women`s employment rate in this study. Especially, we collect experts` opinion about future development of family support policy. Major causes of low-birthrate are change of paradigm, rise of women`s education and desire for themselves, enlargement of women`s role for economy, popularity of having small family, and increase of single rate due to large burden of child care. Therefore, we can solve this low-birthrate problem by removing or at least decreasing several causes in individual, family group, and social elements. In other words, there should be a family support policy which is reducing burden of child care and filling up women`s desire for themselves. As a conclusion, we may stabilize birthrate through improving circumstances around family, especially in women`s role, like marriage, pregnancy, birth, child care, family care and house works. Furthermore, this stabilization should be followed by permanent development in Korea.
