dc.description.abstract | The thesis shows double meanings of adverb of degree 'Neomu(너무)',meanwhile, analyzes and describes some features about Co-occurrence Characteristics. Generally, 'neomu' modifies the following words at a negative meaning which exceeds a certain degree or limit, but 'neomu' is also can be used at a meaning of positive emphasis. In the former case,'neomu' can be defined by [degree], [+standard], [emphasis],[excessive]. On the other hand,'neomu' with meanings of positive emphasis can be defined by [degree], [-standard], [emphasis], [almost excessive]. Next, Let's examine features of sentential circumstance of 'neomu'The adverb of degree 'neomu' is different from the other adverbs of degree, and we can find [excessive] meanings when 'neomu' is connected by partial verbs of action with certain inner feature. That is to say, there is a certain meaning of [degree of action] in the verbs of action like 'eat, sleep' and so on. So the adverbs of degree can be combined with these verbs easily. As well, because there is some adverbial factor which is called [excessive] to express situations in the word of 'neomu', the verbs of action can be combined with it. And in the case that ''neomu' modifies the phrase of 'noun +be', if there is some factor of [+positive] in the nouns, this structure can be interpreted by two parts. At the same time, the double meanings of 'neomu' will be found by us. | - |
