『사쿠테이키』의 가레산스이와 이시구미 문화 연구

Abstract

『사쿠테이키(作庭記)』에는 헤이안시대의 가레산스이 조성방식을 비롯한 다양한 정원 조성양식과 돌이 가지고 있는 본래의 에너지를 최대한 살려서 돌을 조합하고, 배치하는 이시구미 기법에 관해 중점적으로 기록되어 있다. 이 문헌에서 지칭하는 가레산스이는 정원의 일부분에 산을 축조하고, 완만한 들을 만들어 그곳의 지형에 맞게 다양한 크기의 돌을 배치하는 축산(築山) 이시구미(石組) 방식을 말한다. 이 문헌과 시대적으로 가장 근접한 시기에 편찬된 정원 조성에 관한 비전서(作庭秘傳書)인 『산스이나라비니노가타노즈(山水並野形図)』에서 이시구미 기법의 중요한 조형원리로 보는 천지인삼재(天地人三才)는 하늘과 땅, 사람이 서로 질서와 조화를 이루는 것을 가장 안정된 형태로 보는 동아시아의 공통된 전통문화와 사상을 배경으로 성립된 원리라는 것을 알 수 있다. 두 정원 비전서가 제시하는 이시구미 기법의 공통된 특질은 동물들의 특성이나 움직임, 사물의 모양, 놀이 등의 자연에서 얻은 다양한 이미지를 연상(連想)을 통해 이시구미의 형태로 조형화(造形化)한다는 점이다.

This study examined the etymology and clear concept of karesansui. Karesansui defined in 『Sakuteiki』is a mountain building and stone construction method that builds an artificial mountain in a place in the garden not related to any pond or waterway and make a gentle sloped field to arranges stones of various sizes to fit the terrain. Through analyses of the mountain building technique and stone construction arrangement method in As a result of analyzing the livestock techniques and the arrangement techniques of the stones in 『Sansuinarabininogatanoz』, a secret garden book compiled in a period closest to the period of 『Sakuteiki』, it could be seen that the principle of three materials; the heaven, the earth, and human beings, which are regarded to be an important principle of shape design time, is a principle established against the backdrop of the common traditional culture idea of ​​East Asia, which sees the state where the heaven, the earth, and human being form the order and harmony with as the most stable state.

石組は日本庭園の骨格である。『作庭記』には石の特性を最大限に生かす石組手法や石を立てる秘訣が凝縮されている。『作庭記』における枯山水とは庭園の地形や池泉の姿にしたがって、片山の岸あるいは野筋をつくって、それにとりついて大少の石を力強く組み合わせる築山石組の事をいう。即ちこの文献が定義する枯山水は庭園の一部に自然石を組み合わせ配置し、山岳の風景を表現する築山石組方式である。室町時代の龍安寺のような水を使わずに石組や砂の箒目によって水を見立て、水に重きをおく枯山水とは異なる。『作庭記』や『山水並野形図』に記された石組手法を考察した結果、石組は主石·左右の脇石·前石·奥石の配置によって空間構成が成立され、天地人の三才とも呼ばれる。この空間構成は石組手法や、樹木、庭園の空間構成にも用いられる原理であることがわかった。この三才は日本のみならず東アジアの石組や庭園や建築などにも共通する原理である。日本の文化は趣向を一番喜ぶ文化だと言われる。趣向は一つのテーマを芸術化する創造的、意志的、精神的活動であるといえる。この二冊の庭園秘伝書における石組は自然から創作のヒントを得、連想を通じて自然石が本来持っている自然のエネルギーを強くかつ安定感を与えながら作庭家の感性や美的趣向を極限まで表出できる造形手法であると考えられる。
