Abstract
This study identifies the relationship among child care teachers' personal characteristics, emotional labor and burnout. The subjects in this study were 189 child care teachers working in Gyeonggi province. The measures used for this study was the following questionnaires: Emotional Labor Scale, and Burnout Questionnaire. The following methods were used to analyze the data: frequency, ANOVA test and Schéffe post-hoc analysis, and Pearson’s correlation. The results are as follows. Firstly, it was found that child care teachers' experiences and salary had statistically a meaningful difference in burnout. but teachers' ages, educational backgrounds, and types of institute did not have. Secondly, the deep acting of child care teachers' emotional labor reveals negative relationships with dehumanization, a lack of feeling of personal accomplishment, and the entire burnout. Surface acting has positive relationships with emotional exhaustion, dehumanization, and the entire burnout. Natural acting has negative relationships with emotional exhaustion, dehumanization, a lack of feeling of personal accomplishment, and the entire burnout.
