Abstract
The objective of this study is to encourage more spectators to come to baseball ground by forecasting the number of spectators through use of time series analysis method, namely, the demand for pro baseball which is the most popular sports in Korea and by establishing the marketing plan for spectators. To forecast the number of spectators that will view Korea pro baseball from 2011 to 2015, this study selected the data on the number of Korea pro baseball spectators from 1982 to 2010 provided by the data center of home page of Korea Pro Baseball Federation. As method to forecast the number of Korea pro baseball spectators from 1982 to 2015, this study designed research to which ARIMA model, one of the time series analysis models, is applied. Inputting the selected data into SPSS 18.0, time series analysis was applied for analysis. Since the number of Korea pro baseball spectators is expected to constantly keep the level of 6 million from 2011 to 2014 and to reach 7 million in 2015, the more aggressive marketing strategy and investment to the facilities of ballpark than 2010 is necessary. Thus, the forecast of number of spectators can be used to measure the budget of club and to establish the marketing strategy.
