dc.description.abstract | The objective of this paper is to demonstrate the improvement of uniformity ratio of the interior luminous environment in an office building by utilizing horizontal lightshelf. Lightshelf helps to reflect additional daylight through the upper glazing, while providing a shade to the lower glazing like an overhang. Lightshelf lowers luminous level near the window and helps to reach daylight further back in an office. Consequently, improvements in uniformity and visibility lead to better perception. This paper carried out various simulations related to the location and length of the horizontal lightshelf reflector and showed the effect of variables of the horizontal lightshelf. | - |
