Long distance transmission is advantageous in environment monitoring system using wireless sensor networks. When this system is applied in reality, there are many kinds of obstacles, noises, reflections, refractions, and so on. Though those perturbations have been recognized, only the distance between each node has been considered in sensor node installation, resulting in insufficiency to describe communication space and ground reflection. In this paper, we analyze the optimized distance and height of sensor node considering environment variable and using the cross-over point in two-ray ground model. The suitable distance and height in environment sensor network system are decided to be 200 m and 3 m respectively for the environment variable of 3. © 2010 IEEE.-
