dc.description.abstractThis paper presents a contention-aware QoS routing algorithm based on the multi-rate service of IEEE 802 11, which is implemented to minimize the total sum of consumed limeslots while providing the required timeslots at nodes over routes and their contention neighbours over mobile ad hoc networks The experimental results are provided to show the superior performance of the proposed algorithm. Particularly, the proposed algorithm shows better performance when traffic load is relatively heavy-
