Abstract
The time-dependent spatio-temporal, structures and chaotic dynamics of a one-dimensional plasma diode are numerically explored by a particle-in-cell simulation. We report here the large diversity of nonlinear behaviors including a large-amplitude self-oscillation, transitions to chaos and multistability. Specifically, the brand-new competing multistability and the control of the coexisting multistable attractors are investigated in the space of well-defined control parameters of a plasma diode system.
