대학 교양 한문의 방향 제안- 중앙대학교의 사례를 중심으로 -

Abstract

본고는 중앙대학교 교양 한문교육의 변천과정과 현황제시를 통해 한문 교육과정상의 문제점을 파악하고 <대학한문> 과목을 통해 학생들의 한문 실력을 진단하였다. 안성캠퍼스 학생들 특히 예술대학 학생들의 한문 실력이 취약함을 확인하였고 이에 대한 개선방안을 제시하였다. 학생들의 흥미와 요구에 따라 한문교과는 원전 위주의 강독보다 동양학 전반에 대한 기초를 제공하는 방향으로 전환함이 바람직하다. 교재도 학생들을 배려하여 자세한 해설을 실을 필요가 있고 多元化된 사회에 걸맞는 텍스트들을 선택하여야 한다. 또, 학생들의 수준차를 고려한 과목 개설이 필요하다. 한자능력이 떨어지는 예체능 계열 학생들을 위한 기초한자 과목이 개설되어야 하며 이때 방학을 이용한 집중학습도 고려해 볼 만하다. 마지막으로 과목당 적정인원이 배정되어야 강의의 질을 높일 수 있다.

This study revealed the defects of Chinese classics as liberal arts through its process of transition and presented condition. Also, it has evaluated the students’ Chinese classics ability through <Daehakhanmun> courses. It is confirmed that students from the Ansung campus, especially those from the art college, are lacking in their Chinese classics ability and this article has proposed a way of improvement. The Chinese classics course should head in to a direction of providing the overall basics of oriental studies rather than the close reading of original works. Textbooks should also include detailed analysis in consideration of the students and the texts must be selected in accordance with the diversified society. Furthermore, it is necessary to open courses that considers the difference of ability among students. Basic chinese character courses should be established for the physical education and art students who lack in the area, and massed practice during vacation is advisable as well. Lastly, in order to elevate the quality of courses, each class should be assigned with the reasonable number of students. If the Seoul campus has spatial limitations, it is desirable to begin with the Ansung Campus.
