경기도 남북의 지역격차에 관한 연구 -진단과 과제-

Abstract

This study analyzes the disparities between the north and south areas of Kyonggi Province. By implementing various policy measures by central government in 1960s and 1970s, the south area of Kyonggi Province had been fuelled a substantial level of economic growth as well as population growth. For the purpose of this study, dimensions of regional disparity are classifies into 5 component; local economy, living environments, education and culture, public safety and local SOC. To measure the levels and variation of regional disparity, 30 indicators are used for the data of 23 cities and 8 county in 1995 and 1998. It presents evidence on the magnitude and evolution of regional disparities between the two areas. Also, this paper discusses the causes and effects of the regional disparities and policy implementation to alleviate the regional disparities.
