dc.description.abstract | Generally, there are some driving methods such as the address display separated (ADS), the address for display (AWD), the alternate lighting of surface(ALiS), and the multiple addressing overlapping with display period (MAOD), etc. the ADS method has been widely used and composed of one frame, which is divided into eight subfields including the reset, address, and sustaining periods. The roll of the reset period is to erase the wall charge accumulated on the dielectric surface in previous subfield, which makes a same surface condition before next addressing. The role of addressing period is to make new wall charge on the dielectrics of each discharge cell by applying the addressing pulse between scan and address electrodes. We investigated that the addressing discharge was influenced by the ramp waveform in the address period. In case the ramp waveform was made use of the reset pulse, the peak value of the light waveform increased more high than that of the square pulse in the address period. In this article, the effect of the reset waveform is observed by the amount of the light in the address period. Through the ramp waveform decreases the amount of the light in reset period, it increases the amount of the light in the address period. As a result, the optimal design of the reset waveform is determined by the minimum value of the light's sum in the two periods. | - |
