dc.description.abstractThere have been a number of experimental and theoretical investigations to establish a flexural-shear interaction model of reinforced concrete beam without shear reinforcements. Their researches were confined to normal beam of shear span-to-depth ratio (a/d) greater than 1.0. In these models, the relative flexural capacity ratio have been proposed by 1.0 in range a/d≤1.0. However, the mechanical behavior of reinforced concrete beam that a/d is small is significantly governed by the shear rather than the flexure. Therefore, the purpose of this study is that present flexure-shear interaction model to grasp reduction of flexural capacity by effect of shear in beam that a/d is less than 1.2. Based on the existing experimental results, it was observed that the relative flexural capacity ratio decreases with the decrease in the a/d unlike the other models. Also, considering the strut and tie action of short beam, a flexure-shear interaction model of short beam was proposed as a function of a/d, fck, ρ, fy, and h. Comparison with experimental results illustrated the validity of the proposed model.-
