자유 놀이에서 나타나는 유아의 정서 어휘 의미에 대한 연구

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 자유 놀이에서 나타나는 유아의 정서 어휘의 의미를 확인하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 3-5세 혼합연령반 5명의 유아를 2022년 9월 1일부터 2022년 12월 23일까지 일주일에 3-5회 동안 총 45회 참여관찰 하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 정서 어휘는 유아가 자신의 정서를 표현하고 타인의 정서를 인식하고 공감하는 언어 장치로 나타났다. 둘째, 정서 어휘는 놀이에 참여하고, 진행하고, 종결하려는 유아의 의사를 전달하는 언어 장치로 사용되었다. 셋째, 정서 어휘는 의사소통 상황에 적절한 사회 규범을 구현하는 장치로 사용되었다. 마지막으로 자신의 의도를 간접적으로 전달하기 위한 언어 장치로 정서 어휘가 사용되었다. 이를 바탕으로 본 연구는 유아들이 정서 어휘의 의미를 이해하고 표현할 수 있도록 다양한 상황을 통하여 정서 어휘를 경험할 필요가 있으며, 유아들이 정서 어휘를 습득하는 과정을 살펴보기 위하여 성인과의 상호작용을 살펴볼 것을 시사한다.

This study aimed to examine the meaning of emotional vocabulary produced by young children during free play. To achieve this, observations were conducted on a group of five young children aged 3-5 years in a mixed-age class, totaling 45 sessions from September 1 to December 23, 2022, occurring 3-5 times per week. The findings of the study revealed that young children utilized emotional vocabulary to achieve several pivotal communicative goals. Firstly, emotional vocabulary emerged as a linguistic device through which the young children expressed their own emotions and empathized with the emotions of their peers. Secondly, emotional vocabulary was used as a linguistic tool to convey their intentions to participate in, proceed, and conclude play activities. Thirdly, emotional vocabulary served as a means to implement appropriate social norms in conflict situations. Lastly, emotional vocabulary was utilized as a linguistic device to indirectly convey one’s intentions. These findings emphasize the importance of exposing young children to various situations to help them understand and learn emotional vocabulary and suggest the need to examine interactions with peers, parents, and teachers to better understand the process through which young children acquire emotional vocabulary.
