영화 <롤라·런>에 나타난 시간의 개념과 주제에 관하여

Abstract

롤라·런은 현대적인 표현 방법, 형식, 양식과 더불어 시간, 반복, 순간에 있어 새로운 영감을 주었다. 롤라런에 나타난 주요 특징은 편집에 의한 공간이동과 시간의 재배열 서사적 구조의 시간성에 관한 것이었다. 어떤 하루의 20분간을 3번 반복하면서 비현실적으로 시간의 반복을 독특하게 설정하였으며, 3가지 이야기들이 서로 대조되고 변주된다. 또한 연결되어 새로운 형식이 형상화 되고 있다. <롤라 런>은 형식적으로 매우 명료하며, 깔끔하게 구조된 작품이라는 느낌이었다. 이런 점에서 미니멀리즘과의 연관성을 감지할 수 있었고, 양식적으로는 표현주의 예술을 드러내지만 그 속에 미니멀리즘이 내재되어있었다. 이 영화의 <롤라·런>이라는 제목 자체가 적극적 자세를 연상하게 해 주는 것도 사실이지만 해피엔딩으로 마무리 되는 세 번째 이야기의 처음 장면에서 개를 두려워하지 않고 뛰어넘는 장면과 합법적으로 돈을 구하는 설정 등이 감독의 메시지이라는 생각이다. 즉 도덕적으로 인생과 순간에 매우 밀도 있게 적극적으로 대응하라는 의미로 받아들여야할 것이다.

<Run Lola Run> provided a new inspiration to ‘the time’, ‘repetition’, and ‘moments’ together with the modernistic method of expression form and style. The important characteristics appearing to <Run Lola Run> were about the zeitlichkeit of plot of narrative, rearrangement of time and space movement by compilation. With repeating 20 minutes of one day, the director set up the repetition of time unrealistically and distinctively. Three episodes are contrasted with each other for playing a variation. And also three stories are connected with each other to embody the new forms. I had a feeling that <Run Lola Run> is very lucid in formality and is neatly structured. Therefore, in this respect we could be aware of an association of minimalism and, in the problem of style, this movie reveals expressionistic arts. But within that movie minimalism is inherent. The title <Run Lola Run> reminds us of positive attitude, But at the first scene of the third story, Lola is not afraid of dog. At the first episode she felt very horrible to the dog. She jumps over the dog to the third episode. She also obtains money legally. These facts include the message of director. The director demands us to cope with all the things morally and frankly to the life and to the moments with some confidence.
