환경 인쇄물을 활용한 언어활동이 유아의 음운인식, 읽기⋅쓰기 흥미 및어휘발달에 미치는 효과

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 환경 인쇄물을 활용한 언어활동이 유아의 음운인식, 읽기․쓰기 흥미, 어휘발달에 미치는 영향을 검증하는데 있다. 이를 위해 S시에 위치한 A유치원에 재원 중인 만 4세 유아 43명을 연구대상으로 선정하고, 이를 실험집단 21명과 비교집단 22명으로 나누었다. 실험집단 유아에게는 환경 인쇄물을 활용한 언어활동을 적용하였으며, 비교집단 유아에게는 누리과정에 기초한 언어활동을 제공하였다. 본 프로그램의 효과를 알아보기 위하여 활동 전․후에 연구대상 유아에게 음운인식 검사, 읽기․쓰기 흥미 측정을 위한 MRWP 검사, 어휘력 측정을 위한 REVT 검사를 실시하였으며, 검사 결과를 t-검증을 실시하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과 환경 인쇄물을 활용한 언어활동을 적용한 실험집단 유아의 음운인식, 읽기․쓰기 흥미, 어휘력이 누리과정에 기초한 언어활동을 경험한 비교집단 유아의 음운인식, 읽기․쓰기 흥미, 어휘력 보다 통계적으로 유의미한 수준에서 더 높은 것으로 나타났다.

The objectives of this study are to develop language activities using environmental print and to examine its effects on children’s phonological awareness, reading and writing interests, and vocabulary development. To examine the effects of application of environmental print on children’s language activities, the developed activities were applied to 43 four-year-old students (21 in the experiment group and 22 in the control group) studying in A kindergarten located in S city. The language activities using environmental print were applied to the experiment group, while the language activities based on the Nuri curriculum were used for the control group. The results indicate that there are positive effects of language activities using environmental print on children’s phonological awareness, reading and writing interests, and vocabulary development. The results suggest that it would be effective to use the language activities using environmental print in the field of early childhood education.
