- Abstract
- Based on the resource-based view and evolutionary economics, this study analyzes the impact of technological and non-technological innovative activities on the technological competitiveness measured by the number of patents. In addition, we analyze the interaction between technological and non-technological innovative activities. After the empirical analysis using the data provided by The Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI) in the Republic of Korea, we found that the effectiveness of the technological innovative activities has a positive impact on the number of patents. Additionally, we found that non-technological innovative activities positively moderate the relationship between technological innovative activities and the number of patents.
