온라인상의 부정적 의사표현 행위의도에 영향을 미치는 변인들에 대한 탐색적 연구 - 계획행동, 자기결정성, 온라인 규범인식을 중심으로 -

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 온라인상의 부정적 의사표현 행위의도에 관계하는 주요한 심리 및 규범적 변인들이 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 탐색적으로 살펴보는 것이다. 구체적으로 계획행동이론, 자기결정성이론, 온라인상의 규범인식을 논리의 틀로 삼아 완곡한 부정적 의사표현 행위의도와 욕설을 포함한 공격적인 부정적 의사표현 행위의도에 영향을 미칠 것으로 추정되는 태도, 주관적 규범, 인지된 행위통제, 내재적/외재적 동기, 온라인상의 예절규범, 정부규제에 대한 허용, 표현의 자유에 대한 중요성 인식의 영향을 측정하였다. 설문조사를 통해 대학생 349명의 데이터를 사용하였다. 연구결과, 완곡한 부정적 의사표현 행위의도에 대하여, 인지된 행위통제, 내재적 동기, 온라인상의 예절규범과 표현의 자유에 대한 중요성 인식이 영향을 미쳤고, 욕설을 포함한 공격적인 부정적 의사표현 행위의도에는 태도, 주관적 규범, 내재적 동기, 온라인상의 예절규범이 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구에서 발견한 중요한 사실은 부정적 의사표현의 강도에 따라 계획행동변인들의 영향력이 달랐다는 점이다. 특히, 태도는 주로 욕설을 포함한 공격적인 부정적 의사표현 행위의도에 영향을 미친 반면에 인지된 행위통제는 완곡한 부정적 의사표현 행위의도에 영향을 준 것으로 나타났다. 인지된 행위통제는 자기효능감(self-efficacy)과 연계되는 개념으로 향후 온라인상 악플 추방 및 네티켓 관련 교육 시, 대상자의 자기효능감을 향상시키는 과정을 개발할 필요가 있을 것으로 보인다.

This research explores the relationships among psychological and normative variables in online negative expression. This study focuses on behavioral intention toward euphemistic negative online expression and aggressive negative online expression including cursing based on attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, intrinsic/extrinsic motivation, and a variety of online norms based on the theory of planned behavior, self-determination theory, and perception of online norms. A survey was administrated to 349 college students. The results indicated that attitude, subjective norms, intrinsic motivation, and perception of freedom of expression have statistically significant relationships with intention toward aggressive negative online expression including cursing, while perceived behavioral control, intrinsic motivation, online etiquette, and perception of freedom of expression affect behavioral intention toward euphemistic negative online expression. The most important point in this study is that variables in the theory of planned behavior have different roles and positions based on the harshness of online negative expression. In particular, perceived behavioral control is strongly related to euphemistic negative online expression, whereas attitude mainly affects aggressive negative online expression including cursing. As perceived behavioral control is closely associated with self-efficacy, students educated in anti-cyber bullying programs are supported in improving self-efficacy.
