- Abstract
- To improve the energy efficiency of a building, HVAC system is a key element of design. Thermal Zoning, an early stage of HVAC system design, has a significant impact on the energy consumption of buildings and the thermal comfort of occupants. However, previous studies have focused on the performance of HVAC system rather than the importance of Thermal Zoning. Therefore, this study examined whether the conventionally used core-perimeter method is the optimal energy-efficient method. This study analyzed the indoor temperature profile of each room based on Building Energy Simulation and reviewed several studies before performing clustering. In the future, this study will study the optimal Thermal zoning method by companing the results of K-means clustering with the core-perimeter method.
