고령자를 배려한 모바일 애플리케이션 UI에 관한 연구

Abstract

스마트폰 보급률이 높아지며 정보의 습득 방식이모바일 서비스 중심으로 변화하고 있으며, 이에 따라고령자를 비롯한 정보 취약 계층도 쉽게 모바일 서비스를 활용할 수 있도록 ‘모바일 애플리케이션 콘텐츠접근성 지침 2.0’이 한국의 국가 표준으로 제정되었다. 본 연구는 한국을 대표하는 포털사이트인 ‘네이버’ 와 ‘다음’의 모바일 포털 애플리케이션을 비교/분석해서 그들이 제공하는 모바일 환경이 취약계층을 얼마나 배려하고 있는지 알아보고, 고령자들이 정보를 쉽게 습득할 수 있도록 접근성이 쉬운 디자인 가이드라인을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구방법은 다음과 같다. 첫 번째, 모바일 애플리케이션 UI의 특성과 이를 이용하는 고령자의 범위를 정하고 이들의 특성을 고찰했다. 두 번째, 고령자가 모바일 이용 시 느끼는 불편함을 최소화하는 환경에 관한 연구를 고찰하고, 고령자를 배려한 UI 디자인에관련된 선행연구를 조사하였다. 세 번째, 한국의 대표적인 포털사이트인 ‘네이버’와 ‘다음’의 모바일 애플리케이션 환경을 국가 표준지침을 기준으로 비교/분석하였다. 분석결과, 대체로 국가 표준지침에 부합하는 서비스를 하는 것으로 나타났으나 포털사이트의 근본적인특성인 링크를 통해 타사의 페이지를 보여주는 점과소비자들이 콘텐츠를 직접 만들어서 업로드하는 서비스 등으로 인해 국가 지침을 완벽히 따르는 것에는구조적인 어려움이 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한, 모바일 환경의 제한된 크기와 디바이스의 버전에 따른기술적 차이 때문에 나타나는 어려움도 나타났다. 따라서 외부유입 콘텐츠 UI의 통합 가이드라인이 필요하고, 기기별 최적화 작업이 요구된다.

The penetration rate of smartphone is increasing and the way of acquiring information is changing toward mobile services. Accordingly, “Mobile Application Content Accessibility Guideline 2.0” has been established as Korea’s national standard so that information-vulnerable groups including elderly people could easily utilize mobile services. The purpose of this study is to examine how the mobile environment provided by Korea’s representative portal sites regards vulnerable classes, and to facilitate accessibility for elderly people to acquire information easily. The research method is as follows. First, the characteristics of the mobile application UI and the range of the elderly using it were determined and their characteristics were researched. Second, we investigated the study on the environment that minimizes the inconvenience of the elderly using the mobile and reviewed the previous research related to the UI design considering elderly people. Third, we analyzed the mobile application environment of Korea’s representative portal sites ‘Naver’ and ‘Daum’ based on the guideline 2.0. As a result of the analysis, the service satisfies the national standard guide in general. However, it has been confirmed that it is structurally difficult to completely follow the national guidelines due to the fact that a page showing third party contents through a link. Also, difficulties have been found due to the limited screen size of the mobile devices and technical differences due to the version of the device. Therefore, the integration guidelines of the external influx UI are needed, and optimization work is required for each device.
