Abstract

The purpose of this study is to comparatively analyze the criteria and process of the domestic and foreign modular building accreditation system for the revitalization of domestic modular projects. We investigated laws and institutional policies related to modular building performance recognition in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Japan, which are leading countries in modular construction. Next, by analyzing the criteria and process of the relevant system, we intend to suggest the direction of improvement of the domestic modular building performance recognition system. As a result, improvements such as the introduction of the modular building manufacturer accreditation system and the simplification of the licensing process through the inspection process of third party institutions were derived. After that, it is thought that it will be possible to lay the foundation for the revitalization and settlement of the modular market by supporting the related incentives and infrastructure expansion.
