- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to figure out recognition and improvement of special cases of military service of dance majors by utilizing critical incidents technique which is the one of qualitative analysis methods. To attain the goal, 312 dance majors (university students, graduate students, and graduate) in Seoul and Gyeonggi were studied using CIT method. The analysis of the data was produced based on the observation reliability of 3 independent researchers who has culture and arts policy and the art of dancing background. The results were as follows. First, according to the results of analyzing dance majors' positive main factors, the highest frequency was the development of the dance industry. Next was the opportunity for skill maintenance, talent discovery, and career disruption. Second, First, according to the results of analyzing dance majors' negative main factors, the highest frequency was ambiguity of judging standards. Next was unclear selection criterion, unable to change, non-existence of continuous activity, and existence of corruption. Lastly, according to the result of analyzing measures to improve the special cases of military system, need for objective indicators, fair and transparent, openly selected process, assessed only discretion, fairness.
