One-Day, One-Problem(ODOP)형 문제중심학습을 적용한 대학신입직원 직무교육프로그램 설계 및 운영 사례

Abstract

문제중심학습(Problem-Based Learning)은 학습자의 능동적 학습 참여, 자기주도 문제해결력, 협업 및 의사소통 능력 향상을 위한 교육방법으로 다양한 학문 분야에서 적용되고 있다. 하지만 문제중심학습은 학교 교육과정을 중심으로 발전되어왔고 직무교육 분야에서는 선행연구를찾아보기가 어렵다. 이에 본 연구는 문제중심학습 모형 중 하나인 One-Day, One-Problem (ODOP)을 대학신입직원 직무교육프로그램에 적용한 사례를 구체적으로 제시함으로써 직무교육분야에 ODOP형 문제중심학습의 적용가능성과 시사점을 제언하고자 하였다. 교육프로그램의 학습과정은 ODOP 단계에 따라 문제분석, 자기주도학습1, 퍼실리테이터와의 팀 미팅, 자기주도학습2, 발표 및 마무리, 성찰 및 평가의 여섯 단계로 설계하였다. 또한 하나의 문제를 하루 내에해결해야 한다는 ODOP의 시간적 제한을 보완하기 위해 사전학습 단계를 추가하였다. H대학의신입직원 9명을 대상으로 교육프로그램을 운영하였으며 프로그램의 성과를 알아보기 위해 교육성취도와 만족도 설문 및 인터뷰를 진행하고 성찰일지를 수집하였다. 그 결과 교육대상자의 교육성취도가 향상되었으며 프로그램 만족도도 높은 수준을 보였다. 또한 인터뷰 내용과 성찰일지분석을 통해 교육대상자의 문제해결에 대한 자신감과 본 교육프로그램에 대한 인식에 변화가 있음을 확인하였다. 본 사례는 최근 학교교육에서 혁신적 교수법으로 관심 받고 있는 문제중심학습을 직무교육과정에 적용하여 설계·운영하고 교육 효과, 학습자 반응을 분석함으로써 직무교육에서 ODOP형 문제중심학습의 적용 가능성과 시사점을 도출하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

Problem-based learning has been developed around the school curriculum and thus it is difficult to find previous studies that apply PBL in the field of job training. The purpose of this study is to suggest the applicability and implications of one-day, one-problem(ODOP) approach in the field of professional development by presenting the concrete case of designing and implementing process of the training program. Based on the ODOP phases, the learning process of the program was designed in six phases as follows: problem analysis, self-directed learning1, team meeting with facilitator, self-directed learning2, presentation, and reflection. In addition, the pre-learning phase was added to complement the time limit of ODOP that students have to solve a problem within a day. Nine new college staffs at H university participated in the program as learners. After the program, the learners were required to answer a questionnaire and to give an interview on their learning achievement and satisfaction, and to write a reflection journal. The results showed that the learner’s achievement was improved. Furthermore, the learners reported a high level of satisfaction with the program. Through the reflection journals and the interviews, the learners showed confidence in problem solving. This study is meaningful in that it presented the possibility of applying ODOP-PBL, which is currently being interested in school education as an innovative teaching method, into the field of professional development by designing and implementing the instruction and analyzing the learning effect and learner’s response.
