Abstract

The purpose of this study was to figure out meaning of the life of middle-aged men riding bicycle using grounded theory method approach. Research participants were selected 8 middle-aged men by reputational sampling method. Eight participants who usually participated in riding bicycle club or voluntary participants as research participants. The data for this study included participants’ observation and in-depth interview. This study categorized the coding paradigm which was presented by using the findings derived from data as they were into casual condition, context, phenomenon, intervening conditions, interaction, consequences and core category to draw out the process of becoming the life of middle-aged men riding bicycle and its significances. The results of were as follows. First, middle-aged men’s important motivation factors were feeling aging, need for exercise, physiological and psychological changes. Second, middle-aged men felt a burden for weather, work, and road. Third, middle-aged men developed into the life, the increase in satisfaction had played a big role in positioning as part of life.
