백사전설의 파생형 각색 작품의 연구 -<청사(青蛇)>와 <백사2: 청사겁기(白蛇2: 青蛇劫起)>를 중심으로-

Abstract

본 연구는 소설 <청사>와 애니메이션 <백사2:청사겁기>를 대상으로 줄거리, 인물관계, 서사공간, 서사시각, 주제사상, 가치관 등을 통해 고전을 각색한 작품의 '동질화'와 고전 장르 고갈의 해법, 더 나아가 고전 현대화에 관한 효과적인 방법을 분석 및 모색하고 있다. 우선 소설 <청사>는 1인칭 시점으로 기존 백사전설의 서사시각을 뒤집고, 고전적 서사 구조의 틀을 비롯한 단일화된 인물관계와 스토리를 변화시켰다. 다음으로, <백사2: 청사겁기>는 청사를 주인공으로 하면서도 백사전설의 인물 성격과 인물 관계를 이어가며 고전 IP에 대한 고유 인식을 유지하였다. 또한 현실공간과 신화세계를 이용하여 고전의 서사공간을 확장하였는데, 고전 서사구조 및 저본에서 벗어난 독립적인 이야기체계를 구축하였다. 그 외에도 새로운 IP를 통해 서사체계를 확장하여 신화인물을 원형으로 한 새로운 IP를 생성하였다. 상술한 점에 비추어 볼 때, 파생형 각색 방식은 고전적 각색 작품의 동질화와 소재 고갈 문제를 해결하였을 뿐만 아니라 '현대 신화'의 창조를 위해서도 바람직한 방향을 제시하고 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

The research takes the novel "The Green Snake" and the animated film "White Snake 2: The Tribulation of the Green Snake" as the examples, analyzes and explores the "homogeneity" of classic adaptation works, solutions to the exhaustion of classic genres, and even effective methods for classic modernization through plot, character relationships, narrative space, narrative perspective, theme ideas, and values. First, the novel "The Green Snake" overturns the existing narrative perspective of the White Snake legend from a first person perspective, changing the simplified character relationships and stories of the classical narrative structure. Second, "White Snake 2: The Tribulation of the Green Snake" takes Green Snake as the protagonist, continuing the character traits and relationships of the White Snake legend, and maintaining an inherent understanding of the classic IP. In addition, it expands the classical narrative space by utilizing real space and mythological world, it constructs an independent story system that is detached from the classical narrative structure and blueprint. What"s more, it also expands the narrative system through new IPs, generating new IPs based on mythological characters. In summary, it can be seen that the derivative method for adaptation not only solves the problems of homogeneity but also points out an advisable direction for the creation of "modern mythology."
