민사 소액재판을 위한 새로운 법원 유형 제안 -기준 공공시설과의 연계를 중심으로-

Abstract

Seoul City has over 700 civil trials per judge every year. Fifity percent of the total number of these civil cases are for less than 30 million won settlements. These type of micro-trials are held for 5 minutes and the ruling is handed out in two sentences. Due to the brief nature of these trials, the defendants are not well represented. Nowadays, there has been an increase in minor civil cases which do not need to be housed in a large formal courthouse. Thus, there is a need to study a new type of courthouse that accommodates these fast mini trials. This study examines a small-scale courthouse prototype, integrated with public buildings, located in several neighborhoods throughout the city and accessible to everyone in the community.
