- Abstract
- HVAC systems account for about 40% of the total energy consumption of buildings. Research on the HVAC system for energy efficiency of buildings is actively being conducted. The thermal zoning design, which is the basis of the HVAC design, contributes to indoor thermal comfort and is a way to efficiently manage heating and cooling energy. However,there are no detailed guidelines for these thermal zoning design criteria. In addition, the building energy simulation tool only provides a simple core/perimeter method. Therefore, this study performs time-series clustering of indoor temperature profiles in buildings to quantitatively review the core/perimeter method. As a result, it generally takes the form of each
azimuth/core zone, but its characteristics vary depending on the climate of each region. It was also concluded that if data clustering differs from clustering by actual physical distance, criteria for reclassification are needed.
