‘소울’(小郁) 죽 공예품의 디자인 요소에 관한 탐색적 요인분석 연구

Abstract

전통공예는 형태, 장식, 기법, 재료, 문화 등 다양한 요소를 종합적으로 포함한다. 디자이너들은 전통공예를 활성화할 때 주로 특정한 요소나 특징을 기반으로 새로운 공예품을 개발한다. 그러나 특정 요소에만 집중하는 것은 공예품의 문화적이고 친환경적인 가치 등을 간과할 수 있어 공예의 지속적인 발전에 저해요소가 될 수 있다. 따라서 공예품의 다양한 요소를 종합적으로 고려하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 ‘소울’ 죽 공예품을 연구 대상으로 삼아 선행 연구를 통해 관련 디자인 요소를 조사하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 탐색적 요인분석을 활용하여 기능적, 외관적, 재료적, 무형적, 그리고 지역적 특색을 포함한 5가지 요인을 도출하였다. 이러한 요인들은 분산된 디자인 요소들 보다 공예품의 다양한 요소를 포괄하며, 앞으로 디자이너와 장인의 협업 및 ‘소울’ 죽 공예 활성화를 위한 종합적인 시각과 객관적인 참고 자료로 활용될 수 있다. 더불어, 본 연구는 설문조사를 통해 죽 공예품에 대한 소비자들의 구매 현황과 요구를 파악하여 새로운 공예품이 소비자의 취향에 부합될 것이다.

Traditional handicraft is a comprehensive system that encompass a range of elements, including form, pattern, technique, material, and culture. To revitalize handicrafts, designers often create new products based on specific elements. However, focusing on particular elements may overlook the cultural and environmental significance of handicrafts, potentially harming their sustainable development. Therefore, it is crucial to comprehensively consider the elements of handicrafts. In this study, we investigated the design elements of "Xiaoyu" bamboo handicrafts through literature review and conducted exploratory factor analysis, resulting in five design factors: functionality, intangible, regional distinctiveness, aesthetic, and material. These factors provide a more holistic perspective on crafts compared to isolated design elements and can serve as a comprehensive and objective reference for future collaborations between designers and craftsmen, as well as for the revitalization of the crafts. Additionally, this study investigated the purchasing status and consumer demands regarding bamboo craft products through a survey to better align new craft products with consumers' needs.
