- Abstract
- Purpose: The scope of public health center about public health work has continuously expanded and it has performed urgent crisis response tasks while experiencing COVID19. Therefore, the public health center had to expand size and change internal functions to install a new program. So we would like to present the considerations for architectural planning that reflects the growth and change on public health center. Methods: Three public health centers were selected to execute field study and user surveys and architectural planning issues related to the growth and changes of public health center facilities were analyzed based on the survey contents. Results: First, public health center should accommodate expansion and change when selecting an initial site and secure an idle site that can respond to urgent emergencies. Second, public health center secures an underground parking lot that can be used as an evacuation space in case of emergency. Third, public health center should be designed with a structure that internal change is readily changeable so that the facilities can respond to changes in health policies and health promotion program. Fourth, the lobby should be planned as welcome space that can be used in case of emergency, away from a role of functional lobby. Fifth, a circulation system that is advantageous for way-finding should be established considering the expansion of public health center. Sixth, the plan for support spaces of main spaces for work should be considered.
