KPGA투어와 PGA투어의 골프 경기력 차이 분석

Abstract

This study utilized statistical data of players who participated in tournaments from 2019 to 2023, as publicly available on the official websites of the KPGA tour and the PGA tour, to verify the differences in golf performance between KPGA and PGA tour Top 60 ranked players. The collected data was analyzed using IBM's SPSS V.27 for Windows. Descriptive statistical analysis was conducted to examine the golf performance skill factors of KPGA tour and PGA tour players. Additionally, an independent sample t-test was performed to investigate the differences in golf performance skill factors between KPGA tour and PGA tour players. The research results, indicate that there were statistically significant differences in all golf performance skill factors (average driving distance, fairway landing rate, green in regulation, recovery rate, sand save rate, putting average) between KPGA tour and PGA tour players. In conclusion, based on the comprehensive findings of this study, it can be concluded that there are differences in all golf performance skill factors between KPGA tour players and PGA tour players. Therefore, it is deemed that the data analyzing and verifying the skill factor differences between KPGA tour and PGA tour players would be helpful as foundational information and indicators for Korean male players aiming to enter the PGA Tour.
