미니멀리즘 이론에 따른 모바일 앱 사용성 향상 연구

Abstract

연구배경: 본 연구는 미니멀리즘 이론을 기반으로 모바일 앱 UI의 개선과 사용성 향상을 탐구한다. 미니멀리즘 디자인은 간단한 사용자 경험, 사용의 용이성, 시각적 안정감, 조작성과 접근성 향상, 작업 시간 절약 등을 통해 효율적인 앱 활용을 돕는다. 그러나 이 접근 방식은 정보의 손실과 사용자 불편을 초래할 수 있는 문제도 내포하고 있다. 연구방법: 본 연구는 질적 연구와 양적 연구를 병행하여 미니멀리즘 디자인의 장단점을 체계적으로 분석한다. 먼저, 미니멀리즘의 개념과 특성을 이해하고 이를 바탕으로 사용자 경험에 미치는 영향을 분석한다. 질적 연구로 UI 디자이너와의 심층 인터뷰를 통해 미니멀리즘 디자인의 실무적 적용과 문제점을 탐구하며, 양적 연구로 사용자 설문조사와 사용성 테스트를 실시하여 객관적인 데이터를 수집하였다. 연구결과: 본 연구에서는 미니멀리즘 디자인의 장점으로는 간단하고 쉬운 사용자 경험, 사용의 용이성, 시각적 안정감, 조작성과 접근성 향상, 작업 시간 절약이 언급되었다. 반면, 단점으로는 과도한 단순화로 인한 정보 부족, 인지 부하 증가, 색상 및 아이콘의 제한, 네비게이션의 혼란, 레이아웃의 단조로움이 지적되었다. 결론: 연구 결과에 따라 정보의 손실을 최소화하고 사용자 부담을 줄이는 구체적인 방안을 제안하였다. 필수 정보를 효과적으로 전달하기 위한 디자인 요소의 재구성 및 사용자 피드백을 반영한 인터페이스 개선 등이 방안으로 제시되었다. 본 연구는 디자이너와 개발자들에게 미니멀리즘 디자인을 활용한 모바일 앱 UI 개선에 대한 구체적인 방법론과 지침을 제공하여, 더 나은 사용자 경험을 제공하고자 한다. 이를 통해 현대 사회에서 미니멀리즘 디자인의 가치와 중요성을 제고하며, 실질적인 설계와 개발에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

Background: This study explores the improvement of mobile app UI and usability based on minimalism theory. Minimalist design promotes efficient app utilization by providing a simple user experience, ease of use, visual comfort, improved operability and accessibility, and time savings. However, this approach also comes with its own set of challenges that can lead to information loss and user frustration. Methods: In this study, systematically analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of minimalist design by combining qualitative and quantitative research. First, we understand the concept and characteristics of minimalism and analyze its impact on user experience. The qualitative study explores the practical applications and problems of minimalist design through in-depth interviews with UI designers, and the quantitative study collects objective data by conducting user surveys and usability tests. Results: The study cited the advantages of minimalist design as a simple and easy user experience, ease of use, visual comfort, improved operability and accessibility, and time savings. On the other hand, the disadvantages include lack of information due to oversimplification, increased cognitive load, limited colors and icons, confusing navigation, and monotony in layout. Conclusion: Suggest specific actions to minimize information loss and reduce user burden. For example, reorganizing design elements to effectively convey essential information and improving the interface based on user feedback. This research aims to provide designers and developers with specific guidelines and methodologies for improving mobile app UIs using minimalist design to provide a better user experience. This study is expected to enhance the value and importance of minimalist design in modern society and contribute to practical design and development.
