User recognizes pattern of object through viewing icons or components on screen. Pattern recognition is the process to recognize object by comparing the object that an individual is viewing with the image ingrained in mind. Therefore, immediate and correct recognition can help user to recognize object and understand its method of use and meaning. Furthermore, easiness of learning GUI is determined by how effectively pattern recognition is achieved. The number of digital devices using touch screen has been gradually increasing. The difference of touch screen from existing interface is that touch screen is operated by finger gestures. Through this, touch screen provides interaction which is different from existing interface, and hence, study of GUI design maximizing touch screen environment is necessary. This study examines attributes of GUI for touch screen and discusses the direction of further study. In particular, because the difference between touch screen environment and existing interface depends on presence of gestures, the study to discuss GUI for touch screen focuses on induction of gestures.-
