Abstract
To achieve Medium Voltage DC (MVDC) to Low Voltage DC (LVDC) power conversion, Input-Series-Output-Parallel (ISOP) modularized converter stations are widely used. For power balancing among ISOP modularized converter modules, both Input Voltage Sharing (IVS) and Output Current Sharing (OCS) must be achieved. Typically, output voltage droop control methods are used to achieve OCS, while IVS is managed by a central controller that averages the input voltage of each module. However, this method requires the central controller to have information about the input voltage at each module, which is a significant drawback. Therefore, this paper proposes a control method that can independently achieve both IVS and OCS without communication between the modules. The operational principles and mathematical analysis are included. Finally, simulation and experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed control method. © 2024 IEEE.
