dc.description.abstract | This paper presents a low-power 60-GHz On-Off Keying (OOK) demodulator with gain equalization and a Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) for short-range, high-speed IoT devices. The proposed demodulator incorporates gain equalization to compensate for bandwidth degradation and improve signal reception, enabling efficient data transmission over the 60-GHz millimeter-wave band. Additionally, the integrated RSSI functionality provides real-time monitoring of received signal strength, aiding in beamforming and transceiver gain control to maintain stable communication. The designed demodulator achieves a peak gain of 23.6 dB with a 3-dB bandwidth of 5.6 GHz while consuming only 34.7 mW of power in a 65-nm CMOS process. Measurement results demonstrate enhanced bit-error-rate (BER) performance and eye-opening improvement at data rates up to 8 Gbps, validating the effectiveness of the proposed design. © 2014 IEEE. | - |
