- Abstract
- The optimal design of IPM motor, considering the rotor d-axis notch shape and the stator chamfer angle as well as the magnetization
direction simultaneously, is proposed to reduce vibration and to increase average torque. Firstly, the notch shape of the rotor and the
chamfer of stator teeth shape for reducing vibration of the IPM motor are reviewed. As a result, the vibration is reduced in accordance
with the notch and the stator tooth chamfer shape of the rotor. However, the average torque is also reduced. Secondly, the optimization
design for average torque improvement is performed considering magnetization direction and vibration reduction based on the stator
and rotor shape model. Finally, the validity and superiority of the optimization design are confirmed by manufacturing the prototype
motor and performing the experiment.
