dc.description.abstract | In this paper, rotor pole shape of the newly developed, axial flux brushless doubly fed reluctance machine (AF-BDFRM), is optimized to increase its capability to link the flux between power and control windings. Krigging and Latin Hypercube Sampling methods are used to find the optimized values of variables for maximizing torque and minimizing torque ripple. Then, the results are verified through 3D finite element analysis (FEA) and compared with the recently developed diamond shape of the rotor pole, comparison shows an increase in the flux linking capability of the optimized rotor pole. Output torque and back EMF values are increased while the torque ripple is decreased. | - |
