dc.description.abstractThis paper introduces a PM assisted topology for the newly introduced, brushless wound rotor synchronous machine (BL-WRSM) [1]. The proposed topology in this paper has permanent magnets (PMs) as well as windings on the rotor. This topology helps to improve the performance of the machine as compared to the conventional, PM-less topology. Finite element method (FEM) is been carried out to investigate the effectiveness of the proposed topology by comparing its performance with the conventional topology.-
