포용적 디자인 관점의 신체생활기능 분류‧평가체계 개발을 위한 가이드라인: 신체기능 분류‧평가체계 분석을 중심으로

Abstract

고령사회, 위험사회 등 사회변화를 볼 때, 종래의 산업적 이익을 우선시하는 디자인 개발풍토에서 벗어나 새로운 접근의 필요성이 제기되는 상황이다. 이와 같은 배경에서 본 연구는 포용적 디자인의 적용을 위한 도구개발의 차원에서 신체 생활기능 분류‧평가체계 개발의 방향을 제안하는 데 목적을 둔다. 이에 문헌연구와 내용분석법을 통해 포용적 디자인의 의미와 특성을 이해하고 이를 바탕으로 포용적 디자인의 관점에서 핵심적 신체기능인 신체생활기능을 정의했다. 그리고 신체 생활기능 분류‧평가체계의 개발방향 도출을 위해 대표적 신체기능 분류 및 평가체계를 조사, 분석했다. 대표적 분류‧평가체계로는 한국장애분류‧평가, 국제기능장애건강분류‧평가 맥브라이드 신체장해 분류‧평가, 사이먼 키츠와 존 클락슨의 분류‧평가, (도구적)일상생활수행능력 평가체계를 조사‧분석했다. 그 결과 분류체계에 대해서는 ‘감각기능, 정신‧언어기능, 운동기능’ 중심의 구성, 다른 신체기능 분류체계와의 연계성 확보, 디자인을 넘어 다른 영역에서 활용 가능한 범용성의 확보를 개발의 방향으로 도출할 수 있었다. 이 도출결과를 종합하면, 국제표준을 목적으로 개발되어 범분야적 활용 가능성이 확보된 ‘국제기능‧장애‧건강분류’를 바탕으로 기능을 선별하는 접근이 필요함을 알 수 있었다. 한편 평가체계의 경우, 상황‧동작 묘사적 표현에 의한 직관적 척도, 비장애 기능제약‧손상 수준의 신체능력 정도를 포함하는 평가범위, 척도항목 간 위계와 함께 (숫자 등에 의한)능력 총합점수의 제시가 필요함이 도출되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 포용적 디자인의 도구로써의 신체생활기능분류‧평가체계 개발을 위한 기초자료로써 활용할 수 있다. 이에 포용적 디자인을 위한 기초연구로써 의의가 있다. 하지만 이것은 향후 신체 생활기능 분류‧평가체계의 개발에 활용될 때 실제적으로 의미가 있음을 의미한다. 따라서 향후, 신체 생활기능 분류‧평가체계의 개발에 관한 후속연구가 필요하다.

Such as aging society, risk society and so on, societal changes asks to escape from the traditional industrial design approach concerning industrial benefits more into new approaches as alternatives. In these circumstances, in order to boost and create a tool for inclusive design, this study aims to suggest guidelines to develop a comprehensive body function classification and assessment system. For this purpose, this study, mainly through adopting literature review and analytical method, understood meaning and ethos of inclusive design. Then, comprehensive body function, playing core roles in using products, was defined and representative body function classification and assessment systems were analyzed. Finally, having this knowledge and information, guidelines for the classification and assessment system of comprehensive body function were drawn. As representative classification and assessment systems, Korea disability classification and assessment, International classification of functioning, disability, and health, Mcbride evaluation system of permanent impairment, Simeon Keats and John Clarkson system, (Instrumental)Activities of Daily Living were chosen and analyzed. As the result of analysis, for the comprehensive classification system, it would be needed that consisting of ‘sensory-mind and language communication-motor functions’, acquiring consistency with other disability/body function classification systems, generality used in other areas beyond industrial design. It demonstrates that effective could be an approach selecting the core functions from the International classification of functioning, disability, and health which was developed as the international standard. For the comprehensive assessment system, it would be necessary that promoting intuitive understanding with descriptive expression of scales, comprehensive evaluation range including minor impairments, numeric total scores(grades) of body functioning besides hierarchy between scales. As fundamental resources, the findings of this study could be helpful to develop the comprehensive body function classification and assessment system. Thus, this study could have significance in terms of creating inclusive design tools. However, this menas all of the finding in this study could be valuable when they are used for the comprehensive system. Hence, executed should be a follow up study developing the comprehensive body function classification and assessment system.
