dc.description.abstractThis paper presents a novel brushless wound rotor synchronous motor (WRSM). According to this method a brushless synchronous motor is designed having a single 3 phase winding in the stator which is supplied by two different currents from two inverters at a same time. This configuration generates a main working harmonic that is responsible for torque and a sub-harmonic used for the excitation of rotor’s field winding. 2D FEM results are provided to validate the effectiveness of the proposed idea.-
