실무능력 향상을 위한 전문대학 색채교육방향 개선에 관한 연구-컬러리스트 자격제도와 직무내용의 분석을 통하여-

Abstract

교육적 측면에서 색채에 대한 이해는 모든 창작활동에 필수적인 요소이다. 또한 시각, 제품, 패션, 환경,영상 디자인 등 그 분야는 다양하지만 색채는 디자인의 기초요소이다. 이러한 의미에서 색채교육은 색채관련분야를 전공하는 학생뿐만 아니라 디자인 기초과정전반이 필요한 디자이너를 희망하는 모든 학생들에게반드시 필요한 교육과정이다. 특히 전문직업인 양성을교육목표로 하는 전문대학의 색채교육은 이론적인 이해와 단순한 실습 교육에 그치는 것이 아니라, 디자인산업현장과 연계시켜 이해하고, 응용하는 전문성, 현장성, 활용성 있는 실무중심의 색채 교육이 필요하다. 이를 위하여, 본 연구는 컬러리스트의 전문성과 직무 범위, 컬러리스트 자격시험의 교과목 분석으로 시작한다. 또한 색채교육과 컬러리스트 자격제도의 연관성을 도출하였으며, 수도권 전문대학 디자인관련학과(시각, 산업, 패션디자인) 색채교육의 교과목 현황과교과목 내용 및 범위, 수업형식을 분석하였다. 전문대학 디자인 관련학과의 색채교육은 취업과 디자인 현장에서 실무수행능력을 갖춘 전문 인력을 양성하는데 그 목적이 있음에도 불구하고, 디자인에서의 색채에관한 기초능력과 직무수행능력을 학습하기에 절대적으로 그 비중이 부족하다. 또한 색채교육의 내용과 형식이 체계적으로 이루어지지 않음을 알 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 전문대학 디자인관련학과의 색채교육개선 방향으로 다음의 내용을 제안 하였다. 디자인 업무에서의 색채에 대한 기초능력과 실무능력 향상을 위하여 교과목 시수 증가, 교육형식 개선,다양하고 세분화된 디자인 전공에 적합한 교육내용의차별화, 색채 기본적 지식, 색채 활용 실습, 색채실무기본, 색채실무심화로 교육범위를 재설정하였다. 이에 따라 전문대학 학생들이 색채관련 직무능력에기반을 둔 효율적인 색채교육 시스템을 통하여 취업과 디자인 산업 현장에서 전문성 높은 직무의 역할을수행하기를 기대한다.

From educational perspective, understanding ofcolor is essential in all creative activities. Also, eventhough the areas may be diverse, such as visual,product, fashion, environmental, or image design, butcolor is a fundamental element of design. In this sense,color education is an absolutely necessary curriculum,not only for the students majoring in color-relatedstudies, but for all students who wish to be designersthat require the overall basic design curriculum. Especially, the color education in junior colleges, whichits educational goal is to train professionals, should notstop at theoretical understanding and mere practicaleducation but be practice-oriented, which entailsprofessionalism, realism, and utilization that understandand apply in relation to the design industry sites. Forthis, this study begins with the professionalism ofcolorists and their scope of work, and the analysis ofcurriculum for colorist qualification exam. Also, thecorrelation between color education and coloristqualification system was drawn, and the current status,contents, range, and class form of color educationcurricula in design-related departments (visual,industrial, fashion design) at junior colleges in themetropolitan area were analyzed. Although its purposeis to train and foster professionals with practicalabilities for employment and design sites, the coloreducation in design-related departments at juniorcolleges absolutely lacks the importance in terms oflearning fundamental abilities about color and practicalabilities. Also, the contents and form of color educationare not systematically formed. Therefore, this study suggested the following inthe improvement direction for color education indesign-related departments at junior colleges: increasein assigned hours on the subjects, improvement ineducation form, differentiation in educational contentssuitable for different and segmented design majors, andreestablishment of educational range as fundamentalknowledge of color, color utilization practice, basicpractice of color, intensive practice of color for theimprovement in fundamental ability and practical abilityon color in design work. Accordingly, through efficient color educationsystem based on color-related practical abilities, juniorcolleges students are expected to perform moreprofessional role in employment and design industrysites.
